Shipping & Delivery Policy

The Compost Company, LLC specializes in the delivery of bulk compost, mulch, soil, and related materials. Because bulk material delivery differs significantly from small-package shipping, please review the following policy carefully prior to placing an order.

Order Payment & Scheduling
  • All deliveries must be paid in full before scheduling.
  • Delivery dates are scheduled after during checkout and are subject to availability, weather conditions, and operational considerations.
  • We make every reasonable effort to deliver within the agreed timeframe but cannot guarantee exact delivery times.
Delivery Location & Access
  • Customers may request a preferred drop location at the time of ordering.
  • Final placement of materials is at the sole discretion of the driver, based on their professional judgment of safety, access, and the prevention of damage to Customer property as well as company equipment
  • Our trucks must remain on a solid road surface at all times. Trucks will not drive on lawns, grass or soft ground to access drop locations.
Alternate Drop Location
  • If site conditions (such as soft ground, narrow access, overhead obstructions, slopes, or weather) make the requested location unsafe or impractical, we reserve the right to choose an alternate drop location.
  • No refunds or discounts will be issued due to placement changes required for safety or equipment protection.
Driveway & Surface Responsibility
  • The Compost Company, LLC is not responsible for damage to driveways, curbs, or surfaces that are unable to support the weight of heavy trucks and loaded vehicles.
  • Customers are responsible for ensuring adequate access and suitable surfaces prior to delivery.
Installation & Spreading
  • Delivery service includes drop-off only.
  • We do not install, spread, or place material into garden beds, landscaping features, or specific contours.
Customer Preparation
  • Bulk material delivery requires advance planning and preparation by the customer.
  • If no one will be present at time of delivery, drop area must be clearly marked
  • Please ensure that:
    • Access routes are clear
    • Requested drop areas are accessible and stable
    • Vehicles, gates and overhead obstacles are removed or accounted for
