Kitchen food scraps can build up bacterial odor quickly when collected in a solid plastic, metal or ceramic pail. The reason is, food waste is very wet. This creates heat and moisture that cannot escape when placed in these closed containers. Many modern collection pails contain charcoal filters or other devices to help mask the odor but do little to slow the “rotting process.”

The bins’ ventilated sides and lid allow the moisture to evaporate and the food waste to dry out. This means that the waste does not rot, unpleasant odors are reduced, and the weight is reduced by 7% to 12% over 3 days which reduces handling costs significantly.

This item ships directly from BioBag, separately from our locally delivered products. Because BioBag orders are fulfilled and shipped independently of our compost, mulch, and soil deliveries, they cannot be combined into a single order. If your purchase includes both a BioBag product and a locally delivered item, please place these as two separate orders. Each will be processed and shipped according to its own timeline — BioBag items ship directly from the manufacturer with tracking provided, while local items follow our standard delivery schedule.

The Compost Company, LLC provides bulk compost, mulch, soil, and related supplies. Due to the nature of these products and services, all sales are subject to the following returns and refund policy.

All Sales Are Final

All sales are final once material has been delivered.
Bulk materials cannot be returned or exchanged after delivery for any reason, including changes in project scope, quantity needs, or customer preference.

Order Cancellations (Before Delivery)

Orders may be canceled or rescheduled up to 24-hours prior to delivery.
If an order is canceled before it has been scheduled or dispatched, a refund may be issued at our discretion.
Any refunds issued may be reduced by administrative, processing, or restocking fees, if applicable.

Delivery-Related Issues

Refunds will not be issued for:
1. Material placement changes required for safety or access
2. Inability to access the requested drop locations
3. Driveway, surface, or property damage caused by inadequate site conditions
4. Weather-related delays or delivery rescheduling
Once material has been dumped, the delivery is considered complete.

Quality Concerns

If you believe there is a material quality issue, you must notify The Compost Company, LLC within 24 hours of delivery.
Concerns must be reported before the material is moved, spread, or mixed.
We reserve the right to inspect the material or delivery site before determining whether any remedy is appropriate.
Remedies, if offered, are at the sole discretion of The Compost Company, LLC and may include replacement material or partial credit — not cash refunds.

Service Fees & Non-Refundable Charges

Delivery fees, fuel surcharges, and special handling fees are non-refundable once delivery has occurred.
Missed deliveries due to site inaccessibility or customer unavailability may result in additional fees and are not eligible for refunds.
