Our Compost Mulch is a powerful 60/40 blend of Natural Hardwood Mulch and Premium Screened Compost. Unlike traditional mulches that just sit on top of the soil, Compost Mulch actively improves soil health as it protects. The compost component breaks down over time, releasing nutrients directly into the soil to support stronger root systems and healthier plant growth, while the hardwood mulch layer regulates temperature, retains water, and creates a clean, finished appearance.

The Compost Company specializes in the delivery of bulk compost, mulch, soil, and related materials. Because bulk material delivery differs significantly from small-package shipping, please review the following policy carefully prior to placing an order.

Order Payment & Scheduling

All deliveries must be paid in full before scheduling.
Delivery dates are scheduled during checkout, and are subject to availability, weather conditions, and operational considerations.
We make every reasonable effort to deliver within the agreed timeframe but cannot guarantee exact delivery times.

Delivery Location & Access

Customers may request a preferred drop location at the time of ordering.
Final placement of materials is at the sole discretion of the driver, based on their professional judgment of safety, access, and the prevention of damage to Customer property as well as company equipment
Our trucks must remain on a solid road surface at all times. Trucks will not drive on lawns, grass or soft ground to access drop locations.

Alternate Drop Location

If site conditions (such as soft ground, narrow access, overhead obstructions, slopes, or weather) make the requested location unsafe or impractical, we reserve the right to choose an alternate drop location.
No refunds or discounts will be issued due to placement changes required for safety or equipment protection.

Driveway & Surface Responsibility

The Compost Company, LLC is not responsible for damage to driveways, curbs, or surfaces that are unable to support the weight of heavy trucks and loaded vehicles.
Customers are responsible for ensuring adequate access and suitable surfaces prior to delivery.

Installation & Spreading

Delivery service includes drop-off only.
We do not install, spread, or place material into garden beds, landscaping features, or specific contours.

Customer Preparation

Bulk material delivery requires advance planning and preparation by the customer.
If no one will be present at time of delivery, drop area must be clearly marked
Please ensure that:
Access routes are clear
Requested drop areas are accessible and stable
Vehicles, gates and overhead obstacles are removed or accounted for

We appreciate your understanding that bulk material delivery requires care, coordination, and flexibility.

The Compost Company, LLC provides bulk compost, mulch, soil, and related materials. Due to the nature of these products and services, all sales are subject to the following returns and refund policy.

All Sales Are Final

All sales are final once material has been delivered.
Bulk materials cannot be returned or exchanged after delivery for any reason, including changes in project scope, quantity needs, or customer preference.

Order Cancellations (Before Delivery)

Orders may be canceled or rescheduled up to 24-hours prior to delivery.
If an order is canceled before it has been scheduled or dispatched, a refund may be issued at our discretion.
Any refunds issued may be reduced by administrative, processing, or restocking fees, if applicable.

Delivery-Related Issues

Refunds will not be issued for:
1. Material placement changes required for safety or access
2. Inability to access the requested drop locations
3. Driveway, surface, or property damage caused by inadequate site conditions
4. Weather-related delays or delivery rescheduling
Once material has been dumped, the delivery is considered complete.

Quality Concerns

If you believe there is a material quality issue, you must notify The Compost Company, LLC within 24 hours of delivery.
Concerns must be reported before the material is moved, spread, or mixed.
We reserve the right to inspect the material or delivery site before determining whether any remedy is appropriate.
Remedies, if offered, are at the sole discretion of The Compost Company, LLC and may include replacement material or partial credit — not cash refunds.

Service Fees & Non-Refundable Charges

Delivery fees, fuel surcharges, and special handling fees are non-refundable once delivery has occurred.
Missed deliveries due to site inaccessibility or customer unavailability may result in additional fees and are not eligible for refunds.

Acknowledgment of Bulk Material Nature

By placing an order, customers acknowledge that bulk materials:

Are natural products with inherent variation in color, texture, and composition
Require preparation and planning prior to delivery
Cannot be “returned” once placed
